Friar Monk Cookie Jar

Such a jovial guy this monk is! He’s reminding us to not steal cookies but he does not seem to follow his own advice. Made in Japan in the 1950s/1960s this ceramic cookie jar is showing a bit of wear but I think it adds to his quirky charms. He is experiencing some paint loss and has a small crack – none of which would affect his ability to store your cookies. There is no makers mark aside from the ubiquitous Japan stamp on his underside. Similar jars were produced by Tilso and Twin Winton. See photos
