It feels strange and almost absurd posting pretty It feels strange and almost absurd posting pretty things here with so much going on in society. It's why I haven't posted much as of late. But I thought I would today because a bit of prettiness came through the door in a subscription box I was gifted by my mom. Thanks mom! And waking up to it was lovely. This new pour over kettle is a sweet addition to my morning coffee ritual which I use to focus the mind and prepare for the day. Mindfulness can be pretty can't it? Yes, I think so.
How to decorate this spot for the holidays...that How to decorate this spot for the holidays...that is the question. I have a few bits and bobs out but it's not cutting it. Maybe fairy lights are the answer. Do you decorate your plants for the holidays? #CreativeVintageDarlings #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantsofyyc #yycplants #plantlady #vintage #howivintage #myeclectichome #antiquebooks #vintagetypewriter
There's something about making in times of uncerta There's something about making in times of uncertainty that gives me a sense control over at least...one tiny thing. It never fails to lift my spirits. Bringing something into existence that wasn't there before provides a bit of accomplishment every time. During these days of staying home I've been paper crafting and journaling. Gluing bits of things into a collage takes few resources but the result is that sense of satisfaction that can't be beat. Sewing, crochet, photography- whatever it is. First there was no art...and then there is. It counts for a lot in my book. What have you been making? Do you feel the same? #makersgonnamake #make #makethings #stickers #journaling #stationery #write #makeart

If you've been with me a while you'll know the sto If you've been with me a while you'll know the story of this hibiscus tree and you'll know I let ladybugs live in our home to help it overcome a spider mite infestation and how I babied it with daily showers and organic fertilizer and the best spot in our western window. It paid off as we saw at least 100 blooms over the spring, summer and fall. There are still a few buds left to bloom but I am also seeing some leaves yellow and drop and the tree is looking less full. It's time for a bit of a rest I think. In spring I'll prune it back and the cycle should begin again! Indoor gardening provides many rewards besides flowers but growing hibiscus pays off in the most splendid of ways. You can find more info about what fertilizer I used etc on my blog (link in profile.) Oh and because I know people will ask, I bought this lovely plant at @anythinggrowsgarden 😃 #hibiscus #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantsofyyc #yycplants #plantlady #flowers #tropicalplants
I will admit that my desk is a bit of a clutter me I will admit that my desk is a bit of a clutter mess. Elsewhere in the house my collections are curated and displayed in a way that feels eclectic, not cluttered. But here on my desk I mash up all the things I love and I don't really care as much about cohesiveness. What does it matter when they make me smile? Like this cheeky guy. The glasses are scissors, the crown a pincushion and there's a hidden measuring tape in it's butt!! Too fun. How do your collections bring you joy? Do you clutter or curate? We are a community of #vintage loving friends, we LOVE seeing ALL the #vintage ALL the time, and we hope you will too! .
